Salary

The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $11,667 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The salary range for this classification is $5,158 to $12,730 per month.

Position Information

The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Enterprise Infrastructure Analyst to be responsible for the administration, management, and maintenance of the CSU's Common Management System (CMS), PeopleSoft Human Resources, Campus Solutions, and Finance Applications, and third-party interfaces for business continuity, optimal performance, and system capacity. As a member of the ITS Technical Services team, participating in projects, documentation, and support of Enterprise Systems. These projects require collaboration and coordination of effort and resources with the CMS teams, 23 campuses, vendors, contractors, and hosting partners. In addition, the Enterprise Infrastructure Analyst will provide coverage for after-hours (including weekends) on-call support as required.

This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California.

Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of CMS Infrastructure Services, the Enterprise Infrastructure Analyst will participate in developing, testing, troubleshooting, and implementing PeopleSoft infrastructure and integration with third-party vendor applications. Duties include:

-Provides technical support for production and development issues related to the CMS PeopleSoft enterprise environments and third-party applications and interfaces.

-Responsibilities include system configuration, maintenance, and administration of the CSU’s CMS PeopleSoft applications.

-Participate in evaluation, installation, and management of PeopleTools releases.

-Installation, monitoring, and integration of third-party applications with PeopleSoft.

-Continuous system monitoring and management; load balancing and capacity management of the infrastructure.

-Support activities for move-to-production for major application and tool upgrades. These include installing PeopleSoft components (PIA and Application domains) prior to or during the upgrades.

-Maintain awareness of all Oracle and Peoplesoft software updates and coordinate implementation with Technical Services and Development teams.

-Implement and improve existing system practices and processes. Develop procedures and technical documentation for process improvement.

-Lead and participate in project teams to implement new system functionality.

-Undertake special projects as directed, including working with other subject matter experts (SME) teams to facilitate cross-training and coverage of all application areas.

-Provides coverage for after-hours on-call support as required.

The Enterprise Infrastructure Analyst is also responsible for any other duties as assigned. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for keeping current in the industry, including technology changes, trends, and best practices. The incumbent is also responsible for addressing any concerns regarding technical operations with the appropriate supervisor.

On-call responsibilities: The Technical Services team provides 24/7 production support, administered through a rotating on-call schedule. Staff is expected to respond to issues/problems/tasks off-hours and on weekends during their assignment period.

Qualifications

This position requires:

-This position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

-Requires 3-5 years’ experience with support, installation, administration, and maintenance of Enterprise systems like PeopleSoft on a large scale as well as supporting tools for those environments, including PeopleTools, Application and Web Servers (Preferably WebLogic), Process Scheduler, Integration Broker, and browser technologies.

-Requires 3-5 years’ hands-on experience with LINUX operating system.

-Proficiency in high-level scripting languages (Python preferred) as well as script environments such as Korn and BASH.

-Proficiency in RDBMS and SQL Scripting is preferred.

-Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, and SSH network protocols.

-Experience with Boomi Integration Platform system administration and maintenance preferred.

-Experience with the following 3rd party tools is preferred; Citrix, Repliweb, and Control-M.

-Evaluate and recommend tools, processes, and changes to provide support efficiently and effectively.

-Creative problem-solving / strategic thinking skills to improve processes and solve complex problems.

-Excellent analytical skills, debugging techniques, and root cause analysis skills.

-Strong Customer Service skills to work with campus users and vendors.

-Excellent written communication skills are necessary to provide accurate, understandable documentation for automation procedures.

Project Management Skills

-Ability to track and document information between multiple parties.

-Experience in coordinating resource requirements.

-Attention to detail and solid organizational skills are necessary.

-Ability to schedule and prioritize in order to meet deadlines.

-Ability to work independently with little supervision. 

Technical Skills

-Must have strong technical experience and background supporting PeopleSoft application; administration expertise with Boomi integration platform and Pathlock is preferred.

-LINUX Operating System (OS) and ability to analyze and troubleshoot OS network issues is required.

-LINUX shell and Python scripting are strongly preferred.

-Solid understanding of industry browser technologies.

-Solid understanding of automation methodology and best practices.

-Experience with Oracle databases is preferred.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Productivity Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Visio is required.
