Starting Salary $4,454 (Step 2)
The final salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President of University Advancement (AVP of UA), the Development Support Coordinator will independently provide executive level administrative support to the AVP and day-to-day clerical support to the Office of Development. This incumbent will provide support for all fundraising activities, which include interacting with University's philanthropic donors, high level guests, and key external constituents.
Occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates administrative/clerical support to the Associate Vice President of University Advancement, which includes but is not limited to: screening and prioritizing visitors, philanthropic donors, external guests, incoming phone calls.
- Coordinates the AVP's calendar, including scheduling meetings and events. Coordinates all travel and event arrangements, including processing all necessary financial paperwork on behalf of the AVP.
- Prepares and composes correspondence and financial reports. Creates and maintains paper and/or electronic records, files, and contact reports on behalf of the AVP.
- Coordinates and provides clerical and administrative support to the Office of Development
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required Experience: Several years of related office work experience equivalent to four years.
- Required Education: high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices.
- Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge and competency in software including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, PeopleSoft, and other mainframe programs.
- Thorough mastery of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to produce mass mailers and mail merges.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently, and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.
- Ability to perform large scale, complex projects with broad, visible impact that involve coordination with other departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing executive-level administrative support, including supporting multi-departmental budgets, ideally in an academic setting.
- Experience in developing spreadsheets and reports from a variety of sources to produce a consolidated summary preferred. Development/fundraising office support is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred.
