Student Assistant – International Programs

The CSU Office of the Chancellor is seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Student Assistant to provide clerical support twenty hours per week, Monday - Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. When classes are not in session, such as during spring and summer breaks, the Student Assistant may be eligible to work up to 40 hours per week.

Position Information:

The anticipated salary for this position is $18.00 per hour.

The salary range for this classification is $16.90 to $24.00 per hour.

This position is temporary, part-time, and does not include benefits.

This is an 'On-Site Only' position located at the main headquarters in Long Beach, California.

Part-Time Employees are not eligible to telecommute.

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, the Student Assistant will perform various clerical activities in support of CSU International Programs (CSUIP). Typical duties include data entry; maintaining files and various records; copying and collating a wide variety of documents; mailings; scanning; provide telephone back-up, and other departmental support duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

The student must be enrolled in at least six units at a CSU campus. This position requires basic experience in an office environment; strong attention to detail, basic knowledge of general office procedures and standard office equipment; basic working knowledge of current software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; ability to lift/move 25 lbs. or more; ability to learn and perform assigned work; ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities; dependable and mature; ability to work independently, and good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Smartsheet.

Additional duties include:

-Provide general office support to the International Programs staff.

-Assist with data entry and verification in support of the CSUIP online application.

-Assist with surveys, data, and creating reports.

-Assist with marketing and social media initiatives.
